Connecting your LinkedIn account

April, 2023

The Relatus application unifies your various network sources into one master address book. By connecting your LinkedIn account you are allowing Relatus to access your first degree network and search your extended network for people who are relevant to the goals you define on the platform.

When you give Relatus access to your LinkedIn account the app is, for all intents and purposes, your proxy. You may encounter standard account security procedures, such as entering 2FA codes sent to you by either SMS text or email, or a captcha to solve. These function as intended, confirming your account ownership or that you are a human.

Any conditions that exist on your LinkedIn account will also exist through Relatus. If your account has been suspended or limited due to other activity, Relatus will not be able to access your LinkedIn network data as well. If your account has invalid contact information that you need to correct, Relatus will be limited in our access to your data.

If you encounter an issue providing your LinkedIn credentials in the Relatus app, confirm your login and account status by opening LinkedIn directly. Once you resolve any problems with your LinkedIn account, you can proceed to link your account in the Relatus app.

If Relatus experiences any service outages or errors on the LinkedIn platform the app will attempt to notify you. Often these errors can be resolved by waiting a few minutes and trying your action again. LinkedIn is a dynamic platform that can have unplanned downtime or service updates, and may be inaccessible to Relatus at times. If a LinkedIn dependency is causing a Relatus service issue engineering will investigate and restore service as quickly as possible.
